Coaching empowers you to navigate the choppy waters.

The storm is starting to abate. The winds are not so fierce. The raindrops are gentler. Are you ready to haul out in a sheltered spot and take stock?

What is wounded? Where are the leaks? What’s stronger than ever? Were you navigating in the right direction? What tack should you take from here?

We’ll explore these questions together. The answers will come from within you. And you’ll leave our coaching work with the awareness, tools, and vision you need to continue your journey with strength and confidence.

We exercise our resilience with every breath we take.

Thanks to the action of our autonomic nervous system, we can purposefully cultivate our resilience throughout each day. Recent research known as Polyvagal Theory is exploring how our neurobiology influences our thoughts and behavior–and how our thoughts and behaviors impact our nervous system.

Each inhale brings energy to the system, and each exhale relaxation. We need both energy and relaxation–energy to respond to the stressors of life (both normal and extraordinary) and relaxation to repair and rebalance.

Resiliency coaching helps you understand your unique system; recognize how it shifts in response to challenge; and create opportunities to rebalance throughout your day.

Here’s how we’ll work together.

We’ll use exercises informed by Polyvagal Theory to provide you with a map of your unique nervous system and discover what you need to return to a healthy state of balance.

We’ll make meaning out of your experience using imagery, metaphor, and story, harnessing their power to engage the imagination. These approaches go beyond creative expression to shape our thoughts and actions, whether we realize it or not.

We’ll investigate concerns and desires percolating just below the surface of conscious awareness – the language of dreams, archetypes, and images. Your associations and intuition will unlock their meaning.

We’ll experiment with methods from spiritual practices and the wisdom traditions to see which might resonate with you. So many of these practices – breathing, chanting, singing, repetitive movement – naturally tone the nervous system to bring it back into balance.

You are the expert on you.

The focus of our work will be making your strengths the foundation of your future and the compass that guides you. Life will always have its storms. Resilience equips you to weather those storms without getting blown off course.
